Cycling

The quiet lanes that follow the meanders of the beautiful Dordogne and wind into the hills that surround it are ideal for leisurely cycling. You pass ancient châteaux that guard the river, many of which are open to the public, and can even visit the remarkable cavern of the Gouffre de Padirac. The area's great gastronomic traditions are well represented in comfortable inns, but the real joy of this holiday is to cycle through some of France's most ravishing and lyrical countryside, a delight to discover on two wheels. Cycles can be booked at the chateaux de Termes.

Canoes

Just over a mile downhill from Chateaux de Termes is the grand Dordogne River and canoes or kayaks are an ideal and exciting way to see some of the breathtaking sights and scenery! Stop for a swim or take a picnic lunch and while away a few hours exploring the bends and shallows of this ancient waterway. A bus is provided to bring you back to where you started, to save you paddling against the river!

Canoes can be booked from the Chateau de Termes when you get here or save time and disappointment by booking before you arrive in Chateaux de Termes.

Walks

Situated on the top of a cliff, the Chateau is the ideal place to start yours walks. Discover the natural beauty of the Lot, the shepherd’s hideaways and stone walls that line your path with an experienced local guide who will inform you on many interesting aspect of the area.

Flight

Fly an Ultra Light Motorised (ULM) with Pierre, a qualified pilot of these exciting motorised micro-lights. From above you can soar like a bird getting a different perspective on the valley and surrounding countryside. Follow the course of the Dordogne River and see fish swimming in the shallows from this unique vantage point.
Piloted flights in the micro-light can be arranged at the Chateaux de Termes when you arrive or avoid disappointment and book early. The micro-light can be hired from €50 per person for 20 minutes.
